Alex Robertson Wins Gundam Barcelona Regional with Red/White Neo Zeong

Alex Robertson won the Gundam Barcelona Regional with Red/White Neo Zeong, beating Wing in a best-of-three final.

The run was especially solid because Robertson entered Top Cut as the ninth seed after a 6-2 Swiss record, meaning he had to play most of the bracket from the draw. In a room full of aggressive decks, his control build was ready for that.

The deck uses cheap white blockers like Rick Dias, Flat, Gundam Lfrith, and Silver Bullet to slow the game down, then turns the corner with cards like Kshatriya, Sinanju, and Neo Zeong as the big late-game finisher.

In this very informative deck profile video, Robertson described the list as a “maths” deck: take small bits of damage where you can, force awkward trades, and let removal like Improved Technique and Battle of Aces clean up the board.

It is a nice result for a slower strategy, especially with Blue/Purple and other aggressive decks still taking up so much space in the format.
