Card Spotlight: BR-Yamato from the Upcoming OP16 Set
Yamato gives Land of Wano a black-red leader built around playing characters from trash and turning them into Rush attackers.
OP16, THE TIME OF BATTLE, brings Yamato back as a new black-red Leader, giving Land of Wano a much more aggressive trash-based identity.
Yamato is a 5000-power Leader with 5 life and the Land of Wano type. Her effect gives Rush to one of your Land of Wano Characters when that Character is played from your trash.
That tells us exactly what the deck wants to do. Yamato wants to fill the trash, replay Land of Wano Characters from there, and turn them into immediate attackers. Instead of treating the trash only as a recovery zone, this Leader turns it into a pressure tool.
That makes Yamato dangerous in the mid and late game. Any card that can bring back a Land of Wano Character gets stronger because the Character does not have to wait a turn to attack. It can immediately pressure the opponent’s Leader, trade into the board, or force defensive resources.
The Leader also rewards careful sequencing. Players will need to manage what goes into the trash and when to bring it back. The better the revival targets are, the more threatening Yamato becomes.
Because Yamato is black-red, the deck may also combine removal, pressure, and recursion in a very direct way. Black can help control the board, while red-style aggression makes the revived Characters much harder to ignore.
