Card Spotlight: Gundam Plutone From the Upcoming EB01 Set

Gundam Card Game’s upcoming Eternal Nexus [EB01] set is already giving green players something interesting to think about with Gundam Plutone.

The card’s goal is simple: providing Breach 2 during battle. That matters because Breach turns unit combat into extra shield pressure. If the attacking Unit destroys an enemy Unit, Breach deals damage to the opponent’s shield area, making every successful fight feel much more punishing.

What’s good is that Plutone’s effect isn’t just tied to itself. While rested and once per turn, another Unit attacking an enemy Unit can gain Breach 2 for that battle. That opens up some unexpected combat scenarios for the opponent in board states they thought they could safely trade Units without losing shields.

Green decks (Plutone’s color) were one of the strongest ones during the game’s first couple of sets, but recent attention has shifted the meta towards Blue/Purple. Not to say Green is out, since it just won the Chile regional, but it isn’t at the very top like it was in those first days.
