Jose López Wins Turin with Hop’s Trevenant
Jose López wins Turin with Hop’s Trevenant, defeating Brennan Kamerman’s Slowking.

The 2026 Turin Special Event ended with a very unexpected deck: Jose López took the title with Hop’s Trevenant, defeating Brennan Kamerman and Slowking in the finals.
That deck choice is the whole story here. Turin’s Day 2 field was still heavily shaped by the usual suspects, with Dragapult ex making up 39% of the remaining field. Behind it were decks like Teal Mask Ogerpon ex / Meganium, N’s Zoroark ex / Zekrom, Raging Bolt ex, Slowking, and Teal Mask Ogerpon ex / Lillie’s Clefairy ex. Hop’s Trevenant was nowhere near the obvious pick.
Lopez’s Limitless profile makes the win feel even cooler. Before Turin, his listed results were much quieter, with finishes like 122nd at Sevilla 2026 and 47th at Sevilla 2025. Turin is his first listed major Top Cut, and he converted it all the way into a title.
Brennan, on the other hand, was pretty much a final boss. He went undefeated on Day 1, played Slowking, and already had a strong resume, including 14th at Prague Regionals 2026, 36th at EUIC 2026, and multiple Regional and International Top Cuts.
So Turin gave us one of the more fun endings of the season. A field full of Dragapult, a proven runner-up on Slowking, and a trophy going to Hop’s Trevenant.
Next up is NAIC, running from June 12 to 14. It is the last major event before Worlds.
